Announcing a new partnership: Kimberlee Meserve and The Street Property Team are powered by PLACE.

Melia Hord and the MELIA Realty Group of Kentucky embrace the future as PLACE partners. Learn more about their meteoric rise and how PLACE will help keep them on their upward trajectory.

Lexington, KY; February 2022 — PLACE, the real estate industry’s only all-inclusive platform that combines technology, business services, and growth and profitability tools for top producers, announced today that The MELIA Realty Group led by Melia Hord is now powered by PLACE.

Hord recognizes opportunity when she sees it. In her previous career as a successful corporate CPA, the company she worked for struggled to find a reliable vendor for client gifts. “I’m always the problem solver,” explained Hord. “I’m always looking ahead to identify the next thing coming before it happens.” So, she created her own gift basket company and soon transitioned her side venture into a successful, full-time business.

Her gift basket company thrived through relationship marketing, and Hord worked with an impressive client list of agents, commercial brokers, and banks. “It’s not about the dollar,” said Hord. “It’s about creating the relationship. That’s every business’ greatest asset.” After she successfully brokered the sale of her business, she took that same philosophy (and her database) into real estate.

“Create your own story.”

Hord leveraged the equity she built in her former business to create a new brand story in real estate. “When you transition into real estate, you have to create a story that differentiates you from the rest,” said Hord. “I explained to my clients that I was working with the very best in the industry and that based on their experience working with me, they could trust that I will serve them well and communicate transparently.” She also realized that this story wasn’t just about herself and her business, but also recognizing and honoring each clients’ story. “Each day in this business, I get the privilege of being a part of someone’s life story,” Hord explains. “It is humbling to work in an industry where I get to build our community by helping others achieve the dream of homeownership. That makes you super excited to wake up every day and go to work!” Melia Hord sees every transaction as more than just buying or selling – it’s an opportunity to witness a unique part of a client’s life. Whether working with a luxury client or a first-time homebuyer, for Hord, real estate is all about sharing in their story.

“Your word. Your honor. Your character. That speaks volumes in this business.”

Her uniquely personal brand of client service has allowed her to serve over 400 lifetime clients and transact $32.6M in volume in 2021. But for Hord, it’s not about the numbers. “Your word. Your honor. Your character. That speaks volumes in this business,” explained Hord. “People don’t care about how much you sell, they care about how you do it.” She and her team aim to ‘be fierce’ every step of the way for each and every client while building trust, pouring into the community, and serving others at the highest level. “I don’t believe I sell anything,” said Hord. “We don’t sell or buy houses. We build relationships.” While she and her team excel at building relationships, Hord wanted to build even more all while maximizing opportunity for her team. And with only so many hours in the day, she knew she couldn’t do it alone.

“PLACE is going to help us become the trajectory of where the industry is going and bring our people and our clients with us.”

When first presented with the opportunity to join PLACE, Hord raised an eyebrow. Then, she dove in and understood the tremendous value partnership provided for her, her team, and clients. “I’ve had incredible growth and success. I am so humbled,” said Hord. “Success is lonely, and I want to share it. I want to give other people opportunities that they don’t even know exist.” For Hord, PLACE represented an opportunity to learn from others who have experienced similar levels of success and who harbor even bigger ambitions. She was eager to tap into a community that freely shares wins, challenges, and strategies for the next stage of growth. “You have to partner with good people. And I’ve been looking for these people for a really long time,” explained Hord. “PLACE gives me the knowledge and expertise to do things bigger, better, and faster. And they can empower me to properly leverage the things that stand in the way of doing those big things.” Hord also sees PLACE as a vehicle to stay ahead of an industry experiencing rapid change. “PLACE is going to help us become the trajectory of where the industry is going and bring our people and our clients with us.” “Melia loves her Kentucky home and has the natural ability to connect others to create collaboration and opportunity. That energy to build relationships, serve with integrity, and contribute to the betterment of her community is in perfect alignment with the values of PLACE,” said PLACE Co-Founder Chris Suarez. “We are delighted she has partnered with PLACE and appreciate the energy and passion she brings to our network.” “We welcome Melia to PLACE,” said Ben Kinney, Co-Founder of PLACE. “Her strength in building relationships, growing a strong team, and investing in training and technology brings value to PLACE and we look forward to this partnership.”
