James Goodman and Katie Taylor have always placed a value on partnership. They formed their team after a colleague encouraged them to do so just so she could be on it and around them. That got the ball rolling and by 2019, The Goodman Taylor Team was up and running, committed to providing a stellar client experience, and having a lot of fun while doing it.

The partners have great and mutual respect for each other and their skills (and senses of humor) complement each other, creating a well-rounded real estate team with a successful operation. “We bring our own brand of fun and combine that with hard work to make our community succeed,” said Taylor. Goodman added, “Real estate can be lonely. It’s nice to have a partner that I can fully trust. No matter what happens, I know that we can figure it out together.”

That trust in each other and their team became even more important when the pandemic hit. Instead of pausing, the team doubled down and did everything in their power to maintain a sense of normalcy – including keeping up their weekly team meetings, one-on-ones, and book club virtually or at a safe distance. “We brought lawn chairs to the parking lot of a restaurant, drove through to grab food, and ate together in the parking lot while we talked about big picture goals for the business,” recalled Taylor. Their remarkable grit – along with other complementary qualities – set them up for growth no matter the obstacle.

Combining Goodman’s out-of-the-box ideas with Taylor’s vision and organizational skills has helped expand their brand awareness, client base, and community involvement “He is the big thinker, I am the detail person,” explained Taylor. “We approach business differently but we share the same values,” Goodman recalled a car show he began sponsoring prior to their partnership. Today, that same event raises tens of thousands of dollars for local charity. “Katie has added the organization, systems, and world-class execution,” he explained. “It has grown ten-fold and is easier to produce than when I did it all by myself.”

Whether it be volunteering, attending community events, cultivating their past client community on Facebook, or hosting a fundraising event or client appreciation activity, Goodman and Taylor focus on “Building Community Together.” “We are very relational in the way we conduct business,” explained Taylor. “A majority of our clients are from our sphere or from referrals from past clients so we go above and beyond to ensure our clients are satisfied.” Over the course of their careers, Goodman and Taylor have provided the dream of homeownership to more than 500 families. In 2021, they closed more than $47.5 million in volume, closing 106 transactions.

Goodman and Taylor have witnessed the fruits of a solid partnership first-hand. With big goals on the horizon, partnering with PLACE was a natural step forward. “PLACE is like pressing the easy button,” said Goodman. “We know where we want to go, and PLACE has already figured it all out.” Growth is a huge motivating factor for Goodman and Taylor to partner with PLACE. “We look forward to fast-tracking the systems and leveraging those efforts so that we can achieve goals faster,” added Goodman. “We have already begun the process of onboarding new team members.”
