Marshall is owner and CEO of Discovery Real Estate Co., and at the young age of 26, is already an elite real estate professional in southeast South Dakota. Ambitious and driven from the start, she shadowed a Realtor in high school, held an internship with a real estate office during college, and earned her real estate license when she was just 20 years old. In six short years, Marshall has served more than 350 clients and families, helping them achieve their real estate goals. In 2021, she closed $18M in sales volume through 87 transactions.

Marshall admits that because of her age, she has had to learn some things the hard way. “I am a first-generation real estate professional,” explained Marshall. “I never wanted to be told what to do, or put a limit on what I am capable of. I am the kind of person who tends to do things a little bit differently.” When she first entered the business, she started out with a short stint on a team before parting ways to become an independent agent. In the first six months on her own she closed an impressive 17 transactions and the next year she closed 50. “I didn’t want to be the person following,” she explained. “I needed to be the person leading the charge.”

Marshall built her business following up on online leads, diligently reaching out and connecting with potential clients. “I knew that if I did not win over these clients, I was going to be broke,” she remembered. “I am passionate about learning. When something doesn’t work out, I learn, don’t look back, and jump back up.” With every call, Marshall learned to master the art of building relationships, converting, and creating clients for life.

As her skill, confidence, and success grew, her lead sources began to diversify. Today, she meets many of her clients through networking and community involvement. As a young professional, Marshall has also found a niche in catering to first-time home buyers and developed a stellar reputation for explaining the details of government incentives and rebate programs, helping clients take full advantage. Additionally, she has recently started hosting investment tours and summits, teaching homeowners how to build wealth through real estate. Marshall has developed a passion for and skill in investment real estate – not just teaching it, but growing her own portfolio. Over the past three years, she has purchased 30 investment properties.

Marshall would also like to expand her business to other parts of the state and hopes that within five years she will have offices and agents in at least one other region of South Dakota.
