Denise Gifford is the CEO and team leader of The Gifford Team and an elite Realtor® in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. Since launching her real estate career, Gifford has closed more than $125 million in sales volume and helped more than 1,000 families buy and sell real estate.
She and her team were both honored as 2022 Real Estate All-Stars by Cincinnati Magazine, and Gifford was featured in the November 2022 issue of Cincinnati’s Real Producers Magazine.
While studying marketing at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Gifford was a member of the school’s synchronized skating team. “I had completed a real estate class in college, but I wasn’t sure if that’s what I wanted at that time,” said Gifford. After graduating in 1992, she worked as a professional ice skater, bought an ice skating rink, and founded Learn to Skate Cincinnati, now Cincinnati’s no. 1 skating lesson program. Gifford had the honor of skating in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Gifford built her client database by tapping into her extensive ice skating business sphere. She admits there was a lull of silence before people began calling her for their real estate needs. “I gained high-level transferable skills from my ice skating business. At first, my database only produced referrals, but when they saw I was successful and named Rookie of the Year, they came to me for their real estate needs.”
During those first few years, Gifford’s business grew. She was working full-time with two young children, so building a team for leverage became an important goal. Today, she has a family-focused team with a strong work ethic and a service-oriented attitude. “Buying or selling is stressful for the client, so we try to make it as fun and seamless as possible,” said Gifford.
