PLACE FAQs
Common questions about the PLACE Platform.
What is it? How Does it Work?
What is PLACE?
PLACE is the platform for homeownership, bringing together the people, services, technology, and expertise consumers need to simplify everything around home. By connecting what has historically been a fragmented experience, PLACE helps people buy, finance, maintain, improve, protect, and manage their homes through one connected platform. Powered by a network of trusted professionals, PLACE makes homeownership simpler, smarter, and more connected at every stage of the journey.
What problem does it solve?
Homeownership is one of the biggest financial experiences in a person's life, yet everything around it — buying, financing, insuring, maintaining, improving, and managing a home — is fragmented across dozens of disconnected providers. The professionals serving homeowners face the same fragmentation: disconnected point solutions, rising acquisition costs, and one-time transactions instead of lasting relationships. PLACE is built as the connective infrastructure layer that fixes both sides of that problem at once, going beyond the “end-to-end” transaction to be a lifetime partner in homebuying and all the professionals that support that journey.
How does it work?
PLACE connects homeowners and the professionals who serve them through a connected ecosystem. Homeowners get one connected platform across buying, financing, protecting, maintaining, improving, managing, moving, and selling a home. Professionals get everything they need to increase revenue, acquire customers, manage relationships, operate efficiently, execute transactions, and grow their business. PLACE aligns incentives across the lifecycle of homeownership for both professionals and consumers: as professionals grow their businesses on PLACE, more homeowners enter the ecosystem; as more needs are met, the platform gets more valuable; as it gets more valuable, more professionals join.
What is PLACE’s history?
PLACE was founded in 2019 by Ben Kinney and Chris Suarez, two long-time real estate leaders across residential real estate and technology. It raised a $100M Series A led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2021 at a valuation above $1B, and today hundreds of the top real estate teams, and hundreds of thousands of real estate professionals, lenders, and institutions through its technology services.
Who Can Work With PLACE?
Real Estate Professionals
Professionals, including agents, loan officers, closing coordinators, and others who want to grow their business can access a number of PLACE’s technology solutions a la carte — CRM, lead-generation websites, marketing tools, transaction management, and Gabbi, PLACE's AI assistant for lead qualification and follow-up. Specific offerings include Brivity, a leading CRM and lead gen platform, as well as best-in-class real estate data and prospecting platforms Landvoice and Remine, among other technologies.
Real Estate Teams
The PLACE platform is a catalytic growth engine for real estate teams. Team owners get the full technology stack bundled with back-office business services like HR, finance, legal, recruiting (Recruiter.ai), and virtual assistant sourcing. It's paired with coaching and community, on-demand training, and other benefits like subsidized health insurance, equity plans, and revenue share to retain top talent. PLACE is brokerage-agnostic, so teams keep their existing brokerage affiliation (Keller Williams, RE/MAX, eXp, Compass, independent, or otherwise).
Real Estate Associations
Organized real estate associations can work directly with PLACE to provide their members with top technology tools and support to help grow their business at scale.
Homeowners, Buyers, Sellers
Consumers working with a powered-by-PLACE professional get access to home financing, title and escrow, property management, and home services connected through the same platform as their agent, creating a single touchpoint instead of separately coordinating lenders, title companies, and vendors. Financial tools give shared transaction visibility and coordinated timelines; title and escrow keeps contracts, communications, and closing details aligned with automated updates; property management gives owners access to professional management; home services connects buyers and sellers to vetted contractors, movers, and inspectors for the move-in and post-close experience.
Mortgage Companies
Mortgage lenders, servicers, credit unions, and other financial institutions get access to best-in-class technology and support platforms including portfolio intelligence, lead recapture, AI-powered point of sale technology, fulfillment, origination, and other technology-powered tools to grow their businesses and serve consumers better.
Institutions
Financial institutions, investors, and other large housing organizations get technology, data, and services to operate more efficiently across the mortgage and real estate lifecycle. Institutional services include AI-powered mortgage technology solutions, business intelligence, valuations, diligence, servicing, REO, and other institutional real estate services.
