Platz started his real estate career in Seattle, Washington as a college student seeking to make a little money while helping a friend out evenings and weekends. He originally set out to be a technology professional or strategic operations executive, but his life took a different path. The skills that would have made him successful in those fields have served him well in his real estate business that now encompasses Northern Washington and is expanding to the Treasure Valley in Southern Idaho.

With a wife and a growing family, Platz understood that there was more to life than work and began to prioritize the demands and joys of having a family. “I had to figure out how to do real estate better. After 11 years of being the ‘janitor and president’, I needed to bring in other people,” said Platz. “I only wish we had formed a team sooner.”
Over the past six years, The Platz Group has more than 11x its annual sales volume. Platz credits the growth to a team-first approach, a high standard of excellence for clients, creating opportunity for his agents, and celebrating life outside of work. “I have a saying, ‘We take care of people, and then we’re always taken care of,’” said Platz.

For Platz and his family, living in two cities is an adventure they seek.
