Liz Johnson and her team are now powered by PLACE. Johnson has built a growth-minded real estate business and strong brand by “keeping it real.” Learn how she builds authentic connections with her clients and how PLACE will help her move beyond her current reality and keep her legacy alive.

Pierce County, WA, March 2022 — PLACE, a real estate technology and business services platform providing everything top professionals need for their business all in one place, announced today that Liz Johnson and the Liz Keeps it Real Team are now powered by PLACE.

Consistently a top-performing real estate agent in the Greater Tacoma area, Johnson has helped more than 1,200 people attain the dream of home ownership since 2004. In 2021, her team closed $63 million in volume and completed 109 transactions, 77 of which she closed personally.

Johnson has always been interested in houses. As a child, she wanted to be an architect and attended numerous open houses with her mother, who loved to just look with no intention of buying. At 19, Johnson joined the Army and served four years. “I joined the military because I wanted to qualify for a VA loan so I could buy a house,” she explained. Knowing that she was not meant to work in a cubicle, Johnson spent 12 years as a police officer before she earned her real estate license in 2004.

“Sometimes if you are just in the right place at the right time the universe rewards you.”

She fully intended to leave the sheriff’s office as soon as she was licensed but stayed an additional 18 months because she kept getting real estate referrals from fellow officers and employees. “The market was hot then and houses were selling quickly,” she explained. In her first year as a part-time Realtor and still working full time at the sheriff’s office, she closed 15 transactions and 24 the following year. Then, the market changed.

The market downturn and a need for a steadier paycheck led her to a real estate office where she was hired into a leadership position. It did not take long for her to decide that she could put the same energy into lead generating for herself that she had been putting into being a leader in the office. “I would get up, get dressed, and go to work every day,” she said. “I would find something to do and once in a while someone would come in and all I had to do was write up the deal – sometimes if you are just in the right place at the right time the universe rewards you.”

“With PLACE, my brand will expand and grow beyond what I can do alone. My clients are served and people on my team have the capacity to do more and earn more.”

Johnson weathered the market change, came through it stronger and put together a world-class team. “I know what I am best at and where I need to put my energy,” she said. “I love marketing and I can spend hours putting together a beautiful brochure. The result is amazing but the time I spend is not productive for my business. That’s why I knew I had to start building my team.”

It was not until 2014 that Johnson purposefully began branding her business. “Our past clients gave us high marks for telling the truth and not pulling any punches,” said Johnson. “They were pleased that we were straight with them, even when what we had to tell them was challenging.” The Liz Keeps it Real Team was born and has flourished. “The majority of our business is from friends, family, and referrals and we wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Johnson. “We truly believe that if our clients are not left feeling like they had an amazing experience, we did not do our job.”

Johnson has worked hard over the last 17 years to build a successful business and extensive client list. “I’m doing 80 percent of production and I feel that with that valuable of a client-base, I can empower others to see the success that I’ve seen,” said Johnson. And, that is where PLACE comes in. “With PLACE, my brand will expand and grow beyond what I can do alone. My clients are served and people on my team have the capacity to do more and earn more.”

Johnson looks forward to the opportunity for growth that PLACE offers. “I have been at the same really good level for the past five or six years but I know that with PLACE, the potential is really unlimited in terms of our team’s growth and opportunity,” explained Johnson, who expects to grow her Washington-based team as well as expand further into the Phoenix, AZ area.

“Liz’s care for her clients and her ability to earn their confidence has helped her achieve much success and create wonderful relationships with many former clients,” said PLACE Co-Founder Chris Suarez. “Her willingness to keep it real and her long-term goal of ensuring her clients are served while at the same time helping others achieve financial success is in perfect alignment with PLACE.”

“Liz is a go-getter. Keeping it real is a skill she has taken to an art form and I know that we are all going to benefit from her insights,” said PLACE Co-Founder Ben Kinney. “I am delighted she has partnered with PLACE and look forward to watching her team grow.”
