ALAMEDA, Calif., April 2022 — PLACE, the industry’s only all-inclusive platform delivering intuitive technology and business services to empower top real estate professionals, announced today that Guy Blume and The Guy Blume Group are now powered by PLACE. PLACE exclusively partners with leading real estate teams, regardless of brokerage, in 100+ locations across the United States and Canada.

A top producer in the East Bay area, Blume is nationally ranked as a top producing agent for buyers and sellers and was listed in the top one percent of Realtors nationwide from 2012 to 2020. He has received top rankings for exceptional service in Alameda and Contra Costa County from the Bay East Association of Realtors since 2012. In 2021, Blume closed more than $83 million in volume, helping 79 families buy and sell homes.

“I received fantastic training, great mentorship, and while the commute was hard, I learned what I needed to know to put me on the right path to be successful.”

After Blume earned his real estate license in 2006, it took him three years to sell his first house. Blume describes his past self as a “rudderless agent” thanks to the Great Recession and falling out of the housing market. To keep afloat, Blume patched together an eclectic professional life as a golf pro, a wedding singer, and a band member. In 2009, things began to look up as he connected with a broker and started to commute one hour daily to work in Silicon Valley. “I followed the dollar to Silicon Valley,” he said. “I received fantastic training, great mentorship, and while the commute was hard, I learned what I needed to know to put me on the right path to be successful.”

After three years of learning the ropes and making long commutes from Alameda to Los Altos, Blume moved his area of focus to his hometown Alameda in the San Francisco East Bay Area. “I was a three-year agent starting over,” said Blume. “I had learned great skills and every bit of money I earned over the next three years I put back into marketing.”

In 2009, he closed five deals. In 2010, it grew to 10 deals. The next year he closed 15 deals. “It was brutal,” he explained, “My broker encouraged me and after those first three years, I realized I might even be kind of good at this!”

Blume is an enthusiastic cheerleader for his hometown, volunteering at The Alameda Boys and Girls Club, the local holiday home tour, and his children’s schools. He created and is the administrator of the Facebook group, I Love Alameda, CA. . Blume is also a generous supporter of the arts and nonprofits in his community. His love for the East Bay is mutual, as his philanthropy, work ethic, and good nature have earned him a growing book of business supported by countless referrals.

Blume and his team offer a straightforward approach to their business that ensures clients have an enjoyable, efficient, and low-stress experience throughout their real estate transactions. Growing a team was a slow and steady process for Blume, prompted by a realization that he couldn’t do it all alone. “I was burned out and needed help.” Through more and more coaching, Blume built a team, saw agents leave to start their own teams, and learned lessons that helped him put together a team he deems “exceptional.”

Recently, Blume again realized that to take the next step, to continue his journey in real estate, he and his team couldn’t do it all alone. “I really did not think there was a future before joining PLACE,” said Blume. “I didn’t think I could do more. As a leader, I could not add more responsibility and remain in production – I needed help.”

Before PLACE, Blume and his team were satisfied with their level of success. “We were meeting all of our goals,” he explained. “We were all successful and happy with what we were doing and could have just kept on making the money we were making.” Blume felt that more was possible – and that he owed it to his team to find the support needed to continue to grow.

Blume believes that the universe aligned in “strange and mysterious ways” to lead him to PLACE. He and his team were on their way to celebrate a very successful 2021 when he decided to invite his friend Anne Kennedy to join them. As they chatted, PLACE came up, and Anne revealed she was already all in. “As she dropped bits of information about all that PLACE offers and then the news that Goldman-Sachs had invested $100 million, all I could think was, ‘What is this thing called PLACE?’” he remembered. “I just had to know more.”

“Through PLACE, I am giving my team members the opportunity to realize their greatest potential. And that is the biggest gift I could possibly give them.”

With PLACE, Blume believes he can give his agents more opportunities and create a growth-oriented team environment. “I could keep sweating and anxiously worrying about how I can ensure I am providing my team with the value they want and need in our partnership,” he explained. “With PLACE, I can instantly give my team more opportunity. The systems, processes, resources, and training are going to allow us to double the size of our team and quadruple our production.”

“We welcome Guy to PLACE,” said Chris Suarez, co-founder of PLACE. “Guy loves his community and has built a business that allows his clients, his agents, and his family to grow and achieve their goals of building wealth through real estate. We can’t wait to watch this team grow.”

“Throughout his career, Guy has valued partnership to achieve greater success and that belief will drive this next phase of his business alongside PLACE,” said Ben Kinney, co-founder of PLACE. “I am honored that Guy chose to partner with PLACE and know that with his amazing commitment to the growth of his team, we are going to achieve great things together.”

Blume believes that with PLACE, he is giving his team the ultimate gift. “Through PLACE, I am giving my team members the opportunity to realize their greatest potential,” said Blume, with emotion behind his voice. “And that is the biggest gift I could possibly give them.”
