“Making sure there is no limit on our agents’ success is a responsibility I take very seriously.”

Steve Pilkington has built an elite real estate business in the Greater Denver area that is focused on helping both agents and clients build generational wealth. Read on to learn why he believes PLACE will provide the necessary value to bring his organization to a new level of success.

DENVER, June 2022 — PLACE, the industry’s only all-in-one platform delivering intuitive technology and business services to top real estate professionals, announced today that Steve Pilkington and Path Home Team are now powered by PLACE. PLACE partners with leading real estate agents, regardless of brokerage, in more than 100 locations across the United States and Canada.

Path Home Team, led by Steve Pilkington, is one of the premier real estate businesses in the Greater Denver area. Over the course of his career, Pilkington and his team have closed more than 2,000 transactions, exceeding $650 million in volume. In 2021, they closed $74.5 million in volume, helping 106 clients buy, sell, or invest in real estate. The third of seven children, Pilkington has been a real estate professional since 2008. His pursuit is centered around a mission: Making a positive impact on people and leading both agents and clients to build long-term wealth through real estate.

Pilkington began his professional journey by working in construction, which allowed him to pay his way through Pepperdine where he earned a degree in finance. After graduating, he began his career as an investment banker where he found great success but in 2007, the industry contracted along with the economy. Married and ready for a change, Pilkington felt real estate was the natural next step with his construction and finance background. “Real estate made sense to me,” he explained. “I liked working with people, and I understood the financial part of it. With my background, it seemed like a good fit.” Looking to start a new career and a family at the same time, Pilkington and his wife moved to Denver to be closer to their relatives. In his third year in business, Pilkington arrived at a crossroads. His business had grown rapidly, and he often found himself staying at the office until 3 a.m., catching up on paperwork. He knew that in order to keep growing, he had to bring others into his business. In 2011, Pilkington and another Realtor in his office formed a partnership, sharing overhead and capitalizing on each other’s strengths. “Partnerships bring leverage and sharing leadership roles with a peer provides more accountability,” he explained. “I believe you show up more when you are accountable to someone on the same level as you are.”

“Partnership with PLACE has created a level of focus, certainty, and growth that is incredible.”

In 2018, when his partner moved to a different city, Pilkington took the opportunity to reinvent and rebrand his team into Path Home Team. Beyond changing the name and logo, he also cast a new vision for the team – focused on driving massive opportunity to his agents. He quickly found that the level of opportunity he was seeking required significant investments in training, coaching, marketing, hiring, and onboarding. It was a challenge to meet the vision Pilkington had for his team. In 2021, he again began to explore potential partnerships and looked into PLACE. Eager to offer his agents the ability to direct their own destiny, find limitless opportunity, and achieve their personal and professional goals, Pilkington was confident a PLACE partnership would bring his already profitable business to a new level of success. Partnering with PLACE, according to Pilkington, has helped his team shift into a growth mindset. “We are focused on and excited about the possibilities,” he said. “I want every agent to achieve what I have, to build long-term wealth, and live the best life possible. Making sure there is no limit on our agents’ success is a responsibility I take very seriously.” For Pilkington, PLACE provides a strong value proposition that facilitates mutually beneficial partnerships with each of his agents, creating a more profitable business, wealthier agents, and happier clients. Partnering with PLACE has also put Pilkington in business with teams of professionals who reduce the workload required to run a thriving real estate business. “I am not a unicorn,” he explained. “I can’t do it all, indefinitely – no one can. PLACE provides specialists in critical areas like marketing, training and coaching, and finance.” The environment the partnership has created has helped Pilkington up his leadership game and his goals, and create paths to generational wealth for his people. With PLACE, Path Home Team is ready for massive growth and has set a goal to close 1 percent of transactions in the Denver area – roughly 1200 units a year. “Partnership with PLACE has created a level of focus, certainty, and growth that is incredible,” explained Pilkington. “And it’s not like we’re hiking up Everest alone. We’re just the next one to climb the mountain, following those who are at the summit.” “Steve has built an absolutely phenomenal real estate business,” said Chris Suarez, Co-Founder of PLACE. “He is someone who truly understands the heart of leadership – deep relationships, bringing value, prioritizing the goals of others. We are thrilled to grow in partnership with Steve and Path Home Team.” “This partnership is one for the books,” said Ben Kinney, Co-Founder of PLACE. “Steve is one of the most smart, giving, and growth-minded real estate professionals I’ve ever met. He and his team are already impressive and I can’t wait to see what they do next.”
