New PLACE partner Thuy Nguyen has purposefully built her American dream and the Building Dreams Team
Kirkland, WA, March 2022 — PLACE, the industry’s only all-inclusive platform delivering intuitive technology and business services to top real estate professionals, announced today that Thuy Nguyen and her Building Dreams Team are now powered by PLACE.
Empowering others to tap into the opportunity of creating wealth through real estate is the mission of Thuy Nguyen, founder of the Building Dreams Team. Thuy, along with her partner, Ron Ruscha, built a team that collectively speaks seven languages and while it was never a specified goal, 80 percent of their clients last year were new to the country.
“I had always heard the United States was the land of opportunity and I learned that it truly can be,” explained Nguyen. “We want others to know that opportunity exists and encourage them to build wealth through real estate, not only through being a licensed real estate professional, but through home ownership.” During 2021, the Building Dreams Team did just that, closing $100 million in volume and assisting 147 families buying and selling real estate.

“Thuy had the will, a chip on her shoulder, and a big dream,” explained Ruscha. “She came from Vietnam, didn’t speak the language but spoke Vietnamese, Mandarin, and was learning English quickly. She persevered.” While Nguyen earned her license and began her real estate career, Ruscha was still working as a contractor, flipping houses. “I was in a tiny, muddy crawl space,” remembered Ruscha. “And I thought to myself, ‘This is my last job. I am joining Thuy in real estate, full-time.’”

In 2016, The Building Dreams Team was born and has steadily grown since. The team is diverse (hailing from places such as South Africa, The Philippines, India, and more) and have committed to following their proven model to a tee. “They are all immigrants and had no idea that this truly is the land of opportunity,” laughed Nguyen. “They were shocked by their own successes and we hope that they will empower others as we have empowered them.”
The Building Dreams Team doubled their production from 2020 to 2021 and partnered with PLACE as a way to achieve in two years what they project would take them 10 years working alone. “Our biggest challenge has been how to get new agents into production faster and PLACE answers that question,” explained Ruscha. “We are doing awesome but we want to leverage that success.”

There was a point in Nguyen’s real estate journey when her parents begged her to step away and go back to her steady but low-paying corporate job. They believed working for a company was successful enough, and didn’t see the vision Nguyen had.
