Dawn Krause and Tom Basler, co-owners and operators of Synera Homes, serve St. Louis, Lake of the Ozarks and surrounding areas, including St. Charles, Jefferson, Camden and Miller Counties and beyond. With over 10,000 lifetime transactions and 190 units closed for over $80 million in 2024, they’ve built one of the top-performing teams in the region.
Tom began his real estate career in 1993 after transitioning from his role as an electrical engineer. “After seeing a day of mass layoffs, I realized corporate America was not for me—I wanted an environment where people genuinely cared about each other and where growth was possible,” he said. Dawn, a former therapist, started her real estate career in 2001, bringing her passion for helping people to her new profession. Their paths crossed while both were growing successful teams in the St. Louis area, and in 2014, they began discussing the potential of combining their strengths.
In February 2022, Dawn and Tom joined Livian, seeking opportunities to create local growth, leverage proven systems and models, and provide additional resources to their agents and clients. Dawn quickly took on a leadership role within Livian, serving as the Midwest Territory Leader and eventually becoming Vice President of Growth, where she connected with and mentored agents across the country. With their shared mission of empowering agents and delivering exceptional service through innovative systems and a strong culture of collaboration, transitioning to PLACE as part of Livian’s acquisition in September 2024 was a natural next step for Dawn, Tom, and their team.
This new partnership with PLACE prompted thoughtful reflection on what truly sets their team apart and how to best represent their values. After careful consideration, they rebranded their team from the Krause Basler Network and Livian St. Louis to Synera Homes. Inspired by the Greek root ‘syn,’ meaning “together,” Synera reflects their belief that the best real estate journeys are built on teamwork and trust. This rebrand embodies their commitment to delivering seamless, personalized experiences that empower clients and agents alike.
